The Artist soap is part of a unique collaboration between Beyond the Ferns and acclaimed Irish artist Rasher aka Mark Kavanagh. Three of Rasher’s paintings were chosen to inspire three soap creations, each capturing the visual energy and emotional tone of the artwork. The Artist, is a tribute to Beethoven, an artist who found deep inspiration in nature and the vibrations of the world around him. Pink kaolin clay and activated charcoal echo the textures and contrasts of the original painting while offering a practical benefit - they gently cleanse paint-stained hands without drying the skin. Scented with a grounding blend of lavender and clary sage essential oils, The Artist carries an earthy, masculine aroma that lingers just enough to make an impression.

Ortolan soap is the second in the Beyond the Ferns x Rasher series, inspired by a painting that explores the tragic beauty of the Ortolan bird. A creature said to have inspired Beethoven’s iconic Fifth Symphony. In Rasher’s latest work, the bird was the tiny spark that helped ignite a musical revolution. However, on the flip side Rasher confronts the cruel reality of how the elite once consumed it as a delicacy, silencing its song for indulgence. Reflected in the soap’s design are the natural hues of French green clay, parsley powder, and turmeric create swirling patterns that evoke the graceful motion of a bird in flight. The scent is a grounding blend of cedarwood, pine, and neroli, conjuring the earthy sweetness of a forest floor.

The Muse is the third soap in the Beyond the Ferns x Rasher collection. Inspired by a painting rooted in mythology and innocence, it reflects a deep respect for the natural world and a quiet reminder of how we have turned our back on it. We’re surrounded by all we need to live well with plants, botanicals, organisms, and life itself. But the pull of the synthetic world grows stronger, threatening to drown out that truth. The Muse stands as a reminder of simplicity and purity. Visually, it’s the most minimal of the three in the collaboration. A soft peach tone embodies calm and clarity, while a clean white line representing the synthetic world quietly creeping in mirrors a subtle detail only visible in Rasher’s original painting. Scented with sweet orange and the grounding scent of cedarwood essential oil, this soap offers a fresh, uplifting wash that reconnects you with the essence of nature.
